Facebook and Google+ profile sizes

Whilst working on some updates to our Facebook and Google+ profiles recently, I realised that I didn't actually know what size the cover photos or the profile pictures should be. So I started to dig, but after spending a while looking around and finding different sizes on the internet, I eventually ended up getting out the trusty element inspector to find the right sizes myself.
So if you were wanting to design or update your own cover and profile pictures, here are the correct dimensions for both Facebook and Google+.
Updated: 3rd May 2013, for the new Google+ sizes
Note: all sizes are in pixels.
I also recommend using JPG images, as both sites will compress and convert all uploaded images to JPG format anyway, which can lead to some PNG images losing their quality during conversion.
Facebook
Cover: 851x315
Profile: 160x160, but you must use an image at least 180 wide, so I recommend using 180x180.
The profile picture is positioned 23 to the left and 210 from the top.
Google+
Cover: 2120x1129
Profile: 120x120, but you must upload an image at least 250 by 250
So there you have it. Have fun and be social! ;-)
